The Change Up will make every other pitch you have look better. One of the most difficult things for a hitter to do is to read speed. So while high speeds can produce outs, it is important for a pitcher to have multiple speed variations. The Change Up should be the first speed variation a young pitcher learns. Once the fastball and/or dropball is mastered, a change up should be introduced. Rick will introduce you to the basics of a change via a PowerPoint presentation. Subsequent lessons will show Rick instructing his students in all the key points of delivering a “heart stopping change up”.
